In the past  unpredictable Nebraska winters have forced us to shutdown for 3 months, rather than risking the couple and the Rolls Royce on unsafe roads.

We’ve received so many requests for winter weddings, we’ve re-thought our policy…

If you have a winter wedding, you may make the reservation, if the roads are clear we will be happy to be a part of your special day!

In the event we determine the roads are unsafe, or it would be taking a risk to drive a vintage car on your big day, we will call to cancel and you receive a full refund (including the deposit).

The only restriction is we will only accept reservations for weddings in the Omaha metro area, from December to February.

Even though the forecast was for clear skies, clouds threatened rain all day. Fortunately Ceri and Matt willed the rain away and had a beautiful outdoor ceremony.

On of the most beautiful venues for a wedding, Ceri and Matt were united in the Magnolia courtyard. Decorations were perfect for an old-fashioned, story book wedding. The staff at the Magnolia know their stuff.

After a picture perfect ceremony, the bride and groom were whisked away in our Rolls Royce for a photo shoot to capture the day. the photographer (I wish I had got her name) has an artist eye for location and great photo-ops. I have no doubt the couple will have pictures they will cherish.

after the photo shoot , back to the Magnolia Hotel, for a few more pictures, and to off to celebrate the happy couples union with family and friends.

In small towns a wedding might as well be the joining of a royal couple… it’s a big deal!

I had the pleasure of chauffeuring Lauren and Jacob on their wedding day, in Malcolm, Nebraska.

Small town weddings are great and a wedding in Malcolm is no exception. St Paul’s Lutheran Church is like a postcard, or Norma Rockwell print, simple architecture on a gravel road, it stands proud as the towns tallest building. On this day those in attendance at the small town church temporarily increased the population by 20%

Cool but sunny day was perfect for Lauren and Jacob’s big day. After the ceremony the couple held the receiving line outside on the grounds of St Paul’s, some more photographs, and a leisurely drive into Lincoln for the reception.

It was a perfect day, charming town, and beautiful couple.

To be honest I never really got to know Shantal and Galen very well. Arrangements were made via email and phone, so all I can say is “what a gorgeous couple… Hollywood gorgeous”.  With Shantal and Galen in the picture it has to be a beautiful wedding. Though a gray day it’s always a perfect day when your inside the Lauritzen Botanical Gardens facility. The ceremony was brief but the well wishing by the guests kept the Garden Center full for quite some time. then it was off to party as West Lanes where a group already waited their arrival…

It was our pleasure to be of service to Taylor and Cassie, marking the open of the spring wedding season.

Cassie, Taylor, and Cassie’s parents are so hospitable, and gracious I really don’t know how to put into words how kind they all were. 

 Cassie had chosen our Gold package so it was an early pick up before the wedding. Cassie,  Mom and Dad rode to First Plymouth Congregational Church together in the Rolls Royce, excited… only a hint of nervousness.

Cassie looked as if she just step off the cover of  “Brides” magazine…  absolutely stunning! I met Taylor for the first time at the church, a charming and handsome man.

It was a joy to watch Taylor and Cassie interact as their photographer Khara Plicanic of Kabloom Studios posed Cassie for bridal portraits, and Taylor and Cassie for couple portraits, next to the Rolls Royce.  They are magic together, the vision of the two of them together just makes you smile.

After the ceremony it was off to the Country Club of Lincoln, one of the most beautiful venues for a reception in Nebraska.

Congratulations Taylor and Cassie, a lifetime of happiness to you both.

When I’m not driving the Rolls Royce for a wedding, anniversary, of taking a couple for a night on the town, I still ride in a pretty remarkable car.  I found this 1962 Chrysler convertible in Tampa Florida a few years back.

She had some surface rust, and the interior was shot, but I’ve always love the early ’60s styles that came out of Detroit, so I had to buy her… Really.. I HAD TO..

 My best description on almost all  pre-1965 cars is “One step in future, one step in the  past”.

Most of the cars from this era, either really toned down the fins of the fifties, or eliminated them altogether, started using “cutting edge” technology like alternators, and uni-body construction.  Best of all, these cars did there best to appeal to the public fascination with the “space age”

Take a look at the dash of this Chrysler,  push button transmission, globe instrumentation, even the high-back driver seat (or as brochures called it “Commander seat”) it all smacks of space exploration promoted by  president JFK .

Yet with all these “fancy” features, the car has quad headlights, massive chrome bumpers, and is enormous (18.5 feet long).. carryovers from the late fifties.

With just over 2000 of these convertibles built, and styling that went out of favor fast, few have survived…  it has become a relatively rare car, but that’s not the attraction.  I found most cars from the ’60s to be reliable, sturdy, and I love the “why” of their style… They are rolling history.

So if  I’m not driving a Classic Rolls Royce for a wedding, you’ll find me behind the wheel of another piece of history.

Because we have a Rolls Royce service and will find any reason to celebrate… Happy Birthday “Flying Lady”

For all you trivia buffs out there.. the model for Spirit of Ecstasy was modeled after  Eleanor  Thornton, the secret lover (or not so secret) of Lord Montagu of Beaulieu.  Their love could never be public as Eleanor was of less social and economic status. 

Originally Rolls Royce did not have a mascot, but when owners started  creating their own, not so appropriate hood ornaments,  the managing director of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, commissioned a young artist, Charles Sykes to create  ”the spirit of the Rolls-Royce, namely, speed with silence, absence of vibration, the mysterious harnessing of great energy and a beautiful living organism of superb grace…”

As well as having best vendors in the Omaha area, with wares covering every aspect of the wedding, there are two Fashion shows featuring attire for the entire wedding party, and I mean everyone.

It all here, everything you need from the time you address that first invitation, ’til you pack your bags to head home from the honeymoon.

And of course “Wedding Inspirations” is the only show to see the Rolls Royce wedding car, without braving the cold… yes, we are inside, snug and warm, so you can take your time looking over the “Finest Car ever built”.

A bit chilly as the wedding party gets ready

In my mind there is no such thing as a bad wedding day, and I think Amber and Gerhard would agree.  despite a boatload of snow, Amber and Gerhard, family and friends were there to celebrate.

Amber and Gerhard tied the knot at Cathedral of the Risen Christ in Lincoln. The snow hadn’t really started as we headed to the Capital Building for pictures…  and a lot of pictures inside the Rolls Royce, where it was warm , but still braved the cold and wind to get few outdoor shots. 

Off to the Lincoln Country Club for the reception and party with a unmistakable Austrian flavor… from the first waltz to “wipe out” drum solo, the bride and groom partied with guests and closed down the club.

Snow kept falling all night... still had fun

While the snow slowed my trip  to Omaha to a crawl, I wouldn’t have missed driving for Amber and Gerhard… a charming couple.

Why not impress your sweetheart, make a birthday extra special, an anniversary memorable?

Most people only think of a chauffeur driven Rolls Royce experience for a wedding day.  That’s a crying shame, any day can be memorable, why reserve the best for weddings only.
